My wife, Sarah, grew up in South Tempe. She knows these streets from childhood — the good neighborhoods, the tricky ones, the schools that were great 20 years ago versus the ones that are great now. When I was deciding where to specialize, I didn't pick the trendy luxury markets. I didn't chase the Scottsdale bubble or compete for attention in Paradise Valley. I picked the corridor I believed in — 85284 and 85248. Two mirror-image zip codes in the geographic center of the Valley. Close to everything. Half the flash of Scottsdale. Twice the substance of most of the East Valley. And almost nobody was specializing in them at the $1M+ level.
