Homestead sits off Carver in South Tempe, behind a gate, and it went up in a tight window in the late nineties. That matters more than it sounds. One build era means the streetscape holds together and the floor plans are of a piece, so you are comparing like to like rather than guessing. Homes run around 4,700 square feet on lots near four-tenths of an acre, and half of them have a basement, which is unusual anywhere in this valley. Most are single level.

A gate, a short list of streets, and Corona del Sol at the end of it. Homestead is small enough that you learn who your neighbors are, and close enough to Rural and Warner that you are not driving twenty minutes for anything.
Good to Know
Gated here means a code, not a guard house. Homes cluster fairly tightly in size, so the bigger variable between two listings is usually the lot and what has been updated inside, not the square footage. Schools are Kyrene feeders into Corona del Sol.
Pro Tip
Half the homes have a basement and half do not, and the finished ones vary a lot in quality. Get it looked at properly. Egress and moisture are the two things people skip on a walkthrough and regret later.
